Sony’s PSP or Playstation portable is a wonderful example of electronic advancement. It is not just a world class games machine, it can be used with many diverse forms of media, and also be applied with the world wide web. It is a wonderfully versatile and useful piece of hardware, and the one thing that puts many people off is the excessive prices of the games. I’m sure they would look upon things differently if they knew how to download free PSP games and movies.

Everybody knows that the internet is a great source of places to download free games and movies for all kind of different machines, but what is less known is that with the PSP you have some interesting options on how to get this done, and these options are all within the law.

There are so many different places where you can download free PSP games and movies, that it will number well into the thousands. There are basically three broad categories of site you can use.

1- A totally free of charge service. Yes, these sites do genuinely allow you to download games and other material for free. They are very definitely not to be recommended, however. In the first place, it is highly questionable as to whether these sites are legal. Secondly, the games are always old, and many of the downloads don’t even work properly. Thirdly, because these are not ethical sites, you can be sure that you will be bombarded with pop up ads. Finally, and most disturbingly of all, is the strong possibility of your computer being damaged by a virus or spyware. As these sites are on the wrong side of the law, you cannot be sure what they will get up to. By far the best advice is to leave them well alone.

2- A “free” membership site that will allow you unlimited downloads once you have joined them. Although the membership is free, that is where the good news ends, because as soon as you try to access a download they will demand your credit card details and try to get money out of you. This is unethical, as the fees they charge per download are never disclosed in advance. Also, although these sites are probably legal, they still represent poor value for money if you are making a lot of downloads.

3- These types of sites are the ones that should be recommended. Find a reliable site and you will not need to go elsewhere. I have used this type of site to get download games for over a year without paying for one! With this type of site you need to pay an initial joining fee, and that one charge will give you access to the whole database of games and movies. All of these will be at high download speed, which is one of the things the joining fee helps to maintain. This is definitely the best way to download free PSP games and movies because the fee you pay to join is similar to price of a new game in a shop, so in effect you are getting every game released for the PSP for the same price as just one game! Although the download themselves can be difficult, the best of these genuine websites will often provide the necessary software as a part of what you pay for.

Now you have a comprehensive overview of your options when you want to download free PSP games and movies. The best choice is without doubt option 3, as these companies are reputable and honest, and have a very exhaustive range of games and other downloads. Happy hunting!

Many other review websites may tell you that the online rental game clubs are anything but inadequate, just like any other company or system ever concieved, there are a few drawbacks. Although online rentals are a huge step in the right direction for video game rentals and storefront rentals, the drawbacks are few and far between. Let us take a look at them below:

Pros:
1. Online video rentals offer thousands of video game rentals with the newest video game titles being released on rental as soon as they come out. Older games are always available as well.

2. Deliveries are recieved in your mailbox within 2-3 business days of your order.

3. No late fees or delivery due dates for any game in stock. All games can be kept for as long as you wish.

4. Rental companies generally offer used games that are only a few months old for a much lower price than you would be able to find at any storefront or retail store location.

5. Customer service is always there to help with any shipping, tracking, or game problem that may arise within 24 hours.

6. Memberships are alot cheaper than renting games at a storefront rental if you tend to rent games more than 3 or 4 times a month.

7. Some online rental companies supply instructions, reviews, cheats, and community reviews to the public, online, so that gamers to make an informed decision on what to rent.

8. You will be provided with different rebates and special offers for being or signing up as a member.

Cons:
1. If you occasionally rent a game from time to time and don’t usually rent more than 1 or 2 games a month, you may be wasting your money. Make sure that you know how much time you have available each month to devote to you favorite games. If your time if very limited, you may want to consider a 1 game a month plan or even cancelling if you are not playing at all. Almost all rental companies offer cancellations at any time unless you got offered a contract for a certain low price plan.

2. Some contract memberships will charge you a fee even if you do not rent any games at all during your entire membership. Make sure that you will make good use of your membership, even if your recieving a discount from other companies for signing onto a contract. It won’t save you anything if you dont use it.

3. You may be one of those busy people, like many of us, who do not know when you may have the time available to spend on playing video games. When you do realize you have the time, you dont have 1-3 days to wait for a game to show up in your mailbox. Storefront rentals may be just the right choice for someone like you. You can pick up your game anytime and play it for the times that you have available.

The ability to rent video games from home without leaving the house has always been a true dream of mine. Not only does renting video games online keep you busy, but it can be very satisfying knowing you can rent as many titles as you want at anytime and generally receive them within a day or two.

Here are some Video Game Rental Statistics you might find interesting:
•”U.S. consumers spent $633.6 million renting video games in 2001, and a record-breaking $6 billion buying video game software (including PC software).”

But why are people renting video games instead of buying? I guess I can’t say gamers are not buying video games.
“The U.S. computer and video game software sales grew four percent in
2004 to $7.3 billion — a more than doubling of industry software.”

But why rent games? I would estimate that people rent for 4 primary reasons.
1.The convenience
2.Its cheaper
3.Able to test games
4.Time sensitive

Convenience is truly a luxury worth having these days. People are looking for ways to save time and effort. Everything these days has to be fast and easy. Online video game rental companies provide that and much more. First of all and most important they deliver the game right to your front door. No more wasting your gas going to your favorite rental store, only to find out that the game you wanted is no longer available and won’t be available until you make that drive again. Gas is too expensive these day, who wants to spend all that money driving to a video store when you can easily accomplish the same task on your home computer?

Second of all it’s simple alot cheaper. The average video store charges from $4.00 to $6.00 dollars per video game rental. That could get expensive, specially if you’re renting numerous titles per week. Most of the well known game rental clubs like GameFly, Gottaplay, Intelliflix and RentZero only charge $12.95 to $19.95 per month for unlimited video game rental. So let’s say you rent 2 titles per week at the local video store. That equal around $30.00 dollars per month compared to $12 to $13 dollars per month with the online alternative. This is a large savings at the end of the month.

Now here is the greatest part. Have you ever purchased a video game and just hated it. You can’t just return the game, you’re stuck or you have to exchange it in for store credit. So you just have to suck it up and move on to the next game, which might not live up to your standards. Renting video games online gives you the chance to test the game first before you purchase. The companies will even allow you to purchase the games at discount rates and just keep the game if you enjoy it that much.

You can keep the games as long at you like just pay the monthly fee. If you want to play 6 to 7 games a month or more you can just pay the one time monthly fee and be done with it. You don’t even have to pay for postage. That’s a deal that I can get use to.
